Sharing a Plan
Any load plan can be shared with people outside your LOP account — a customer, a warehouse team, a forwarder — through a share link. The recipient opens the link in a browser and sees the plan in an interactive 3D viewer. No LOP account, login, or installation is needed on their side.
Creating a Share Link
- Open the plan in the editor
- Click the Share button in the top toolbar
- In the "Share this plan" dialog, choose:
- Permission — currently View only. "Can comment" and "Can edit" appear in the list but are marked (soon); they are reserved for upcoming collaboration features. Today, recipients can only view, whichever option is selected
- Expiry — 7 days, 30 days (default), 90 days, or Never
- Click Generate Link, then Copy
The link looks like app.lop.tools/share/… followed by a long random code, and can be pasted into email, chat, or a quote.
Links expire after 30 days unless you choose otherwise, and 90 days is the maximum fixed duration. A Never-expiring link is an explicit choice — use it only for long-lived references, and prefer an expiry for anything sent outside your organization.
What the Recipient Sees
Opening a share link shows a read-only viewer with:
- The 3D load view — the recipient can rotate, zoom, and inspect the load, but cannot move or edit anything
- The plan name, containers, and utilization figures
- Item counts in physical units — a quantity item counts once per unit, including units loaded on pallets, so the totals match your packing list
- Pallets and STEP/CAD items rendered fully — real 3D meshes, exactly as in your editor
The page is marked View Only. If the link has expired or been revoked, the recipient sees a "This link is no longer valid" notice instead of the plan.
Privacy
A share link exposes only the view of that one plan — nothing else:
- No account or login is required, and none is created for the recipient
- The recipient sees the plan's cargo, containers, pallets, and scores — not your item library, templates, other plans, team, or any company account data
- Internal identifiers are stripped from the shared view; the link cannot be used to reach anything inside your LOP workspace
- The link is an unguessable random code — but anyone who has the URL can open it. Treat a share link like an email attachment: send it only to the people who should see the plan, and set an expiry
If a link was sent to the wrong audience, revoke it (below) — revocation takes effect immediately.
Managing Active Links
The share dialog lists every active link for the plan with its permission, expiry date, and a truncated preview of the code (full links are shown only once, at creation — copy them then):
- Copy new link — generates a fresh URL with the same permission and expiry as the listed one. The old link keeps working; people already using it are not cut off
- Revoke — disables the link immediately for everyone who has it
Link Limit
A plan can have at most 20 active share links. Creating a 21st is refused with a message naming the limit — revoke a link you no longer need to free a slot. Existing links are never removed automatically (other than by their own expiry).
