Managing Pallets

Once pallets are created, they appear in the Items Panel as collapsible groups with amber-colored headers. LOP provides tools to edit, reorder, lock, duplicate, and delete pallets throughout the planning process.

Pallet Groups in the Items Panel

Each pallet appears as a group header showing:

  • Pallet name — editable (e.g., "Pallet #1 (EUR)")
  • Type badge — the pallet type code (e.g., EUR, GMA)
  • Item count — number of items on the pallet
  • Total weight — combined weight of all items
  • Fill percentage — how much of the pallet's available volume is used

Click the header to expand the group and see the individual items on that pallet.

Editing a Pallet

To modify a pallet's contents or settings:

  1. Right-click the pallet header in the Items Panel → select "Edit Pallet"
  2. Or double-click the pallet in the 3D viewport

The Palletize Panel opens in edit mode with the title "Edit Pallet" and a "Save Changes" button instead of "Create Pallet". You can:

  • Add or remove items from the pallet
  • Change the pallet type
  • Change the packing pattern or layer rotation
  • Re-run Auto-Pack with new settings

Click "Save Changes" to apply your edits.

Locking and Unlocking Pallets

Locking a pallet protects it from accidental changes:

  • Right-click the pallet header → "Lock Pallet"
  • A lock icon appears on the pallet header

When a pallet is locked:

  • It cannot be edited, deleted, or dragged in the viewport
  • It is excluded from "Clear existing" when running Palletize All
  • It is preserved when running Unpalletize All
  • The cursor shows a pointer (not a grab handle) in the viewport

To unlock: right-click"Unlock Pallet".

Lock pallets that you have finalized and do not want to change. This is especially useful before running Palletize All with "Clear existing" — locked pallets survive the clearing step.

Reordering Pallets

Pallet order determines the loading sequence: the first pallet loads first (placed at the back of the container), the last pallet loads last (nearest the door for first unloading).

To change the order:

  • Hover over a pallet header to reveal up/down arrow buttons
  • Click the arrows to move the pallet up or down in the list

The container solver respects this order when placing pallets.

Duplicating a Pallet

To create a copy of an existing pallet:

  • Right-click the pallet header → "Duplicate Pallet"

A new pallet is created with "Copy of" prefixed to the name and the same items, pallet type, and arrangement.

Deleting a Pallet

Two options for removing a pallet:

Unpalletize (Keep Items)

  • Right-click the pallet header → "Unpalletize"
  • The pallet is removed but all items return to the unplaced items list
  • Items can then be re-palletized or loaded as floor items

Delete Pallet + Items

  • Right-click the pallet header → "Delete Pallet + Items"
  • The pallet and all its items are permanently removed from the plan
⚠️

"Delete Pallet + Items" removes the items from the plan entirely. If you just want to disassemble a pallet while keeping the items, use "Unpalletize" instead.

Unpalletize All

To remove all pallets at once:

  • Click "Unpalletize All" in the Items Panel header
  • All unlocked pallets are removed and their items return to the floor
  • Locked pallets are preserved
